With the holidays and ski season quickly approaching, our phones have started ringing with clients excited to refresh their guest rooms for their friends and family. We have a few “go to” sources and key elements we love to incorporate into our projects, which we thought would be fun to share with you.
Two sets of sheets for every bed makes changing sheets between guests a breeze. Our favorite sheets used in every design project are a blend of Bamboo and Organic Cotton which are wonderfully soft and wrinkle resistant! The bamboo sheets are available through LKW Design, but in a pinch check out the Threshold wrinkle resistant sheets from Target.
Add a touch of luxury with a warm fur throw at the foot of the bed. These are washable and a tried and true favorite of the designer’s projects in the Vail Valley.
Don’t forget the fluffy towels and robes for your guest’s bathrooms. Put the robes on a hanger in the guest bedroom closet or the back of the bathroom door so it’s obvious they are clean and meant for their use. Towels folded on the countertop or displayed on towel rods where guests don’t have to hunt for them is a nice touch. Stock the shower with shaving cream, shampoo, and body wash so that guests don’t have to ask to borrow what they forgot or wouldn’t fit in their carry-on.
There are a few, key things every guest needs to know to be comfortable in your home. Leave information like the WiFi password and TV remote instructions in an easy-to-find spot for quick reference throughout your guest’s stay.
And don’t forget to freshen up! Our favorite way to revitalize guest rooms before each arrival is a small arrangement of fresh flowers and a spritz of fragrant, essential oil room spray from our favorite, NYR Organic US.
We hope these few tips can help you in preparing for holiday visitors. What special touches do you add to make your guest rooms special for house guests? Share your ideas with us!
