Last week we had the pleasure to kick-off the spring remodel season by attending the Denver Design District’s Launch Spring Market and what an excellent event this was! The day was packed with the promoted “design + inspiration + creativity + fun” and it was a great opportunity for us to get down to all the showrooms where we could connect with industry friends and curate some new contacts and resources along the way. Now that we have had some time to decompress and process everything we saw, heard, and experienced, we are going to re-cap the Top 5 highlights from Denver Design District’s Launch Spring Market. Here we go!
1. “Decorate Fearlessly”
We attended Susanna Salk’s keynote session and received a great reminder that taking risks and having fun with design can help us create spaces our clients “love to live in”. It’s easy to fall into a design rut where we forget to try new things and we were prompted on how important it is to play with color and pattern in ways that we haven’t tried before. We especially liked her description of concept images as “design crutches”, and how they are a great tool to use when helping our clients understand an out-of-the-box idea or concept. And it’s always important to remember: “Fun is more important than a ruler!” Get your copy of Salk’s new release today Decorate Fearlessly !
2. “Sequins and Shanghai Nights”
Donghia’s textile collections rarely disappoint and the 2015 collection is exceptionally beautiful. Sophisticated color palettes, gorgeous textures, and interesting weave techniques are some descriptors that come to mind. We loved how they include a mix of “easy” fabrics that could work into any project, as well as some more “couture” fabrics for the edgy client. The Giselle Settee was a favorite from the furniture collection, and it will definitely be used in 2015 LKW projects!

3. “A. Rudin Scores an A+”
We thrillingly accepted an invitation to attend the A. Rudin Launch Party at Town Studio to cap off the day. A. Rudin is a long time favorite and go-to for LKW when selecting upholstery pieces for projects where style and comfort must be exceptional. We are very excited to see the furniture line being so well represented at Town.
4. “Luxury Runs in the Family”
Manufacturing their fabrics in family-owned mills for generations, Roger’s and Goffigon never disappoints. We got to spend some time feeling through timeless textures and beautiful neutrals perfect for refreshing our spring and summer projects. Rogers and Goffigon just launched a brand new site. Take some time to peruse the site and share with us your favorites! Rogers and Goffigon LTD
5. “Let’s Feast!”
While lunch time can hardly be considered an educational session part of the DDD Launch event, we couldn’t miss an opportunity to share with you how thoughtful and beautiful the dining amenities were are this event. It just goes to show that not a detail is missed when it comes to events put on by design experts. Both flowers and food were beautifully arranged in a Tuscan, spring setting.
This totally made up for the gray skies in Denver that day!
So here’s to welcoming the springtime projects with fresh, fun ideas and a great boost from industry greats!
