As we admired the brightly colored pieces up close, the artist casually mentioned, “I don’t use brush strokes.” Wait, what?! That made us take another look and as we chatted with Jessica Wright some more, she explained that her technique of “throwing paint” on her work came out of frustration for a piece that wasn’t working. Her family came in and thought it was her best work! The visual texture she is able to create is really outstanding, and her piece was a show favorite for us.
Stefan had an amazing collection of pieces that are a colorful and modern representation of Swiss chalets on the side of a mountain. The collection of four pieces shows the same chalets through the four seasons, depicting shadow and color changes based upon where the sun is oriented. Heres’ the 24″x24″ “Summer” below.
Gorgeous photography and a very sweet, approachable artist passionate about her work. The framing she offers was the perfect fit for her work and great for one-stop shopping.
The three-dimensional aspect of this piece was incredible, not to mention the scale (see what we did there) at around 6’x4′. The use of the elk horn around the outline of the fish is genius! Sure to be a conversation piece in a boutique hotel or home with a fly fishing enthusiast.
